I am a research scientist at Vals AI, a startup in San Francisco focused on evaluating foundation models by creating new benchmarks and evaluating newly released models in an unbiased manner.
Prior to this, I was an MS student at Stanford specializing in AI, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Percy Liang and David Hall. I worked on the Marin project, an open lab for building fully-open foundation models with a state-of-the-art 8B model released and more to come! You can read more about the project here.
While at Stanford, I was also fortunate to work with Prof. Jure Leskovec and Hanchen Wang. I was a TA for CS 231N with Fei-Fei Li and Ehsan Adeli, and for CS 109 with Chris Piech and Jerry Cain.
I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I worked with Prof. Eliu Huerta and Prof. Julia Hockenmaier.
